EAST MILLINOCKET – Betty Mae Kimball, 72, wife of the late Harold P. Kimball Jr., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 19, 1931, in Millinocket, the daughter of Clinton and Nettie (Baker) Astle. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother. She passionately loved her garden, believing that she was “nearer God’s heart in her garden than anywhere else on earth.” She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Roger Nightingale of Hampden; two granddaughters, Kathleen and Nicole Nightingale also of Hampden; one brother, Raymond “Sonny” Astle of Millinocket; one brother-in-law, Nelson LeVasseur of Dedham; two sisters-in-law, Ida Morse of East Millinocket, and Evelyn and husband, Bud Nadeau, of Milford; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dachshund, Buddy. A service of remembrance will be held later this spring.
