SANGERVILLE – Beverly I. Kurki, 74, died Feb. 19, 2008, at her home. She was born June 4, 1933, in Parkman, daughter of Earl and Iva (Bartlett) Grant. She lived for much of her life in Massachusetts, moving back to Maine in 2000. A very caring person, she was all about family. She enjoyed camping, archery and loved dancing in her younger years. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roger O. Kurki of Sangerville; a son, Roger A. Kurki; three daughters, Margaret Webb, Bonnie Sladeski and her husband, Rick, and Christine Kurki, all of Massachusetts; two brothers, Francis Grant and his wife, Maxine, and Carl Grant and his wife, Patricia, both of Sangerville; a sister, Maxine McPhetres of Etna; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; two sons-in-law, Jim Collins and Bob Webb, both of Massachusetts; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Thelma and Enos Hamilton of Green Lake and Ethel and Don Higgins of Saco. She was predeceased by three daughters, Sharon Parrott, Regina Collins and Wendy Farrar; and two brothers, Harold Grant and Kenneth Grant. She will be greatly missed by many friends in both Maine and Massachusetts. There will be no public services at this time. Spring burial will be at Russell Village Cemetery, Russell, Mass.
