CLIFTON – Blanche A. Garrity, 70, wife of James E. Garrity, died March 29, 2008, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Sept. 14, 1937, in Boston, the daughter of Francis S. and Blanche (Bishop) Martin. Blanche was a devoted mother and wife. She was employed in various secretarial jobs over the years after her youngest child started school. She took a temporary job at the University College of Bangor and found the job of her dreams and loved every moment of the next seven years. Blanche was also a member of Holden Congregational Church for many years. She is survived by her husband of Clifton; six children, James E. Garrity of Brewer, Susan Sarosiek and her husband, Skippy, of Stratham, N.H., Linda Goodrich of Clifton, Thomas Graban and his wife, Deborah, of Hermon, David Garrity of Kendallville, Ind., and Brian Garrity of Hender-son, Nev.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Maloney of Danvers, Mass., and Frank Martin and his wife, Bea, of Ormond by the Sea, Fla.; one sister, Grace DeWolfe and her husband, Bernie, of Oveida, Fla; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, William Graban. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A memorial service honoring Blanche’s life will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Hol-den Congregational Church, Church Road, Holden, with the Rev. Dana Douglass, pastor, presiding.
