DEXTER – Bryant U. Drew Sr., 80, died April 2, 2005, at a Bangor hospital after a brief period of ill health. He was born in Corinna Oct. 5, 1924, the son of Ralph E. and Marjorie (Bryant) Drew. He was educated in Corinna schools. Bryant was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was married for 56 years to Lena M. Drew, who died March 26, 2001. Bryant worked for Georgia Pacific at the Plywood factory in Eugene, Ore. for many years. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by two sons, Bryant U. Drew of Milo, and Preston H. Drew of Garland; one sister, Luella Drew of Corinna; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marilee Babcock in 2001; and two brothers, Carroll, and Dale; and two sisters, Louise and Drucilla. Friends may call 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport. Graveside services will be conducted later in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
