CORINNA and PITTSFIELD – Carl Wilber, 80, of Pittsfield, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1922, the son of Percy and Eva Wilber. Carl was a World War II veteran. Carl spent the majority of his working years at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. For many of those years, he worked in the maintenance department, where he was well known for his ability to repair almost anything. Carl will be lovingly remembered for his dry wit, kind heart and generous spirit. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion, of Pittsfield; children, John and Linda Wilber of Dexter, Carleen and Donald Harriman of Pittsfield, Brent and Sherry Wilber of Corinna, Loretta Wilber and Jerry Martin of Pittsfield and Hartland; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Robert and Peter Wilber, Angela Cupples, Christopher Harriman and Ellie Martin; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Lauren, Colby, Dustin, Emily, Courtney, Nicole, Kylie and Ethan; a sister, Marian Sinclair of Corinna; brothers, David Wilber of Corinna and Harold Wilber of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Betty Palmer. At the family’s request, there will be a private graveside service. Those who wish, may make contributions in his name to the Sebasticook Valley Hospital Building Fund.
