BANGOR – Carlton Allen Strout Sr., 72, died May 19, 2008, at his home. He was born June 11, 1935, in Calais, son of Allan Lloyd and Nina Arlene (Strout) Strout. Carlton was a graduate of Old Town High School. He was a well-known and respected local businessman, and contractor and founder of CA Strout & Sons, Inc., Bangor. Carlton was a member of Bangor Baptist Church and enjoyed the opportunity to meet with his many friends for coffee. Surviving are his wife, Margaret E. (Green) Strout of Bangor; four children, Gayle (Strout) Mashaw and her husband, Don, of South Daytona, Fla., Carlton A. Strout Jr. and his wife, Judy, Ronald L. Strout, and Paul B. Strout, all of Bangor; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held noon Thursday, May 22, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick, senior pastor of Bangor Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
