GARFIELD PLANTATION – Carleton C. Tibbetts, 90, died Nov. 24, 2006, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born April 24, 1916, in Ashland, the son of Caleb and Hattie (Eastman) Tibbetts. He was employed in the woods industry most of his life. Mr. Tibbetts is survived by one daughter, Ida Jacques of Ashland; two sons, Dalton Tibbetts and his wife, Connie, of Garfield, Leonard Tibbetts and his wife, Peggy, of Garfield; one sister, Eva Allen of Presque Isle; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his wife, Elta (Libby) Tibbetts in 2002. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. Tuesday until time of service at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating. Interment will be at the Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
