AUGUSTA – Carlton David Crocker Sr., 98, died Saturday April 14, 2007, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation, Glenridge Drive, Augusta. He was born Dec. 9, 1908, in Bristol, the son of Roscoe and Nora (Reeves) Crocker. He started his first job at Vickery Hill Publishing in 1926 and later went to work for Hudson Pulp and Paper. He was a foreman for them when he retired. Carlton was known to many as “Brud” or “Pampy.” He enjoyed working with wood in his spare time and talked of fishing as a younger man. He lived in Carmel for several years, but returned to Augusta when his best friend and companion, Maxine Fogg, died. Mr. Crocker was predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Dube) Crocker; his daughter, Margaret Gaslin; and four sisters, Allene Dwinell, Anita Pinkham, Louise Bickford and Geraldine Paradis. He is survived by his son, Carlton David Crocker Jr. of Fort Walton, Fla.; his grandchildren, Janet Hickey of East Winthrop, Beverly Gosselin of Manchester, Carlton David Crocker III of Fort Walton, Fla., and Joseph Crocker of Fort Walton, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Johnson, Erin Hickey, Justin Gosselin and Sarah Gosselin; and two great-great-grand-children, Luke Johnson and Noella Crocker.
