MONROE – Carol Ann Moffit, 77, died Dec. 19, 2005, at a local healthcare facility. She was born April 17, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Esther (Gormley) Tierney. Carol lived in New York for many years before moving to Maine in 1972. She worked for Penobscot Marine Museum in public relations as well as store manger. Carol was a student of the late, great Estelle Liebling. She sang on stage, radio, TV and did film voice over. Carol was predeceased by her parents, brother, Edward F. Tierney Jr.; and sister, Mary Ellen Tierney. She is survived by her husband, Donald Moffit of Monroe; brother, James Michael Tierney and his companion, Katherine Fiori; sister-in-law, Maureen Tierney, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 81 Court St., Belfast.
