PEMBROKE – Carol D. Lawson, 82, wife of the late Gardner, went to meet her Lord Feb. 25, 2004. Carol was born Nov. 4, 1921, in South Thomaston and lived on Mount Desert Island most of her life. In later years she lived in Ellsworth, where she enjoyed assisting elderly and handicapped people, and then moving to Pembroke with her daughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Gardner; and two sons, Daniel and Richard “Smoky”. She is survived by her daughter, Dora and her husband, Edwin, of Pembroke; son, Arthur of Rochester, Minn.; son, Raymond and his wife, Roxie, of Rockport; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister, Mildred Butler of Warren. Graveside services will be held in the spring.
