MILLINOCKET – Carol Jan “C.J.” Mackin, 46, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at a Millinocket hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 3, 1960, in Millinocket, the daughter of Brenda Steeves and Carroll James Mackin. C.J. graduated from Stearns High School, Class of 1978, and went on to further her education at Casco Bay College, graduating from Husson College. She worked for many years at the Millinocket Water Co., retiring June 2005. C.J. was also a licensed realtor. She is survived by the love of her life, Chester “Chuck” Hamm Jr.; her dog, Storm; her mother, Brenda Colombo and her husband, Armand, all of Millinocket; a brother, Arthur Larson and Peggy Mithcell of York Beach; three sisters, Ann Fiske and her husband, John, of East Millinocket, Jan Markie and her husband, Bruce, of Millinocket and Gayla Malone of Ellsworth; two nieces, Caroline Larson of Milford, Conn., and Victoria Fiske of East Millinocket; a nephew, Aaron Malone of Ellsworth, many aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. C.J. was predeceased by her father; maternal grandmother, Jan Ouellette; paternal grandfather, Arthur J. Steeves; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Lillian Mackin. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-8 p.m. Monday at Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
