MILBRIDGE – Carole A. Beedy, 66, retired special education teacher at her alma mater, Brentwood High School, Long Island, N.Y., died peacefully Thursday, March 20, 2008, with her husband and daughter present in Milbridge, after a seven-year determined and courageous battle with cancer. She lived in Milbridge part-time beginning in 1989 and year round since 2004. Carole was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved with her family to Long Island when she was young. She enjoyed scuba diving, traveling and family, especially spending time with her grandchildren in New York. She is survived by her husband, James C. Beedy of Milbridge, whom she married June 30, 1990; a daughter, Doreen Brooks of Lake Grove, N.Y.; grandchildren, Nicole Brooks, Rachel Brooks and Tiffany Brooks, all of Lake Grove, N.Y.; brother, Ron Bliss and sister-in-law, Josephine Bliss, of Sebastian, Fla.; and stepdaughters, Alison Beedy of Fresno, Calif., Jennifer Beedy of Scarborough and Jessica Beedy of San Diego.
