CALAIS – Carolyn Alice Sprague, 69, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. Carolyn was born June 2, 1938, in Calais, daughter of the late James and Alice (Jackson) McClure. She was employed as a retail clerk for area stores, including Ames. Carolyn married Carleton Sprague, May 21, 1988. She was a member of the Women’s League of St. Croix Bowling Club. Carolyn enjoyed bowling, hunting, decorating for the holidays and spending time with her granddaughter, Nicole. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by two brothers, James McClure and his wife, Betty, and Paul McClure. Surviving are her husband of more than 19 years, Carleton Sprague; two children, Thomas McClure and his wife, Robin, of Calais, and Angela Clark and her husband, Peter, of Calais; three grandchildren, Miranda and Justin McClure, and Nicole Clark; a sister-in-law, Frances McClure of Calais; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Calais Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
