DEER ISLE – Carolyn M. Thompson, 73, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at a Blue Hill hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Deer Isle, the youngest child of Maurice J. and Clarissa B. (Bray) Morey. Carolyn was a school bus driver for 10 years, and also picked crabmeat at home. She was floor lady at R.K. Barter Canneries and also at the Stonington Packing Company. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 53 years, Phillip D. Thompson of Deer Isle; a son, David Thompson and his wife, Dianne; two grandsons, Jeremy Thompson and his partner, Nicole, and Matthew Thompson and his partner, Trisha; three great-grandchildren, Kristin, Nathan, and Dylan, all of Stonington; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Kenneth, Maurice, and Neville Morey, and Gloria Morey Richards. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Sunshine Road, Deer Isle with the Rev. Francis Cormier officiating. Arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Stonington.
