DOVER-FOXCROFT – Carroll Bernard Judkins, 91, died June 7, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born May 21, 1914, in Dover, the son of Frank C. and Marjorie Carroll Judkins. He was a graduate of Foxcroft Academy in 1932 and soon married Violette Puisses and worked in a wartime factory in California until her death. He then returned to Maine in the late 1930’s and worked as a meat cutter in the Bangor A&P store. Carroll married Dorothy Judkins of Bangor in the late 1940’s and they built a home on Kenduskeag Stream where they were avid gardeners and fishing enthusiasts. He was happiest when building items or golfing. He later worked at Judkins’ Market in Dover-Foxcroft then retired to Orlando, Fla. In 2001, Carroll returned to Dover-Foxcroft and resided at the Hibbard Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his wives, Violette and Dorothy and is survived by a stepdaughter, Gloria Chase and special friend, Phyllis Berce, both of Dover-Foxcroft; four grandchildren; six great-grand-children; and special cousins, Juddy and Ardith Judkins of Dover-Foxcroft. A graveside funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the family lot in the Gray Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Foxcroft Academy, 975 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home.
