PRESQUE ISLE – Catherine Jandreau, 87, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Oct. 10, 2003, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 24, 1916, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Willie and Marie (Michaud) Fortin. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle. Mrs. Jandreau had been employed by Zayre Department Store and Aroostook Shoe in Presque Isle. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Tilda Bass and her husband, Alan, of West Chapman, Norma McEntee and her husband, Terry, of Presque Isle, Barbara Groves and her husband, Fenton, of Morrisville, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rinette Chase and Marie Jeanette Charette, both of East Hartford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Romeo Jandreau; and a daughter, Rose “Roma” Smith. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Alfred Irving celebrant. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
