CARIBOU – Cecil A. Lister, 88, husband of the late Helen Lister, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, in Auburn, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Caribou, the son of Samuel B. and Gertrude (Thompson) Lister. Cecil graduated from Caribou High School in 1938 and later on took advanced courses at Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, Presque Isle. He was employed for 40 years with Maine Public Service Company serving in the engineering department, and was accomplished in many areas such as being a master electrician and master oil burner man. He was a member of the Gray Memorial Methodist Church for more than 50 years and served as chairman of the board of trustees, an usher, and belonged to the Methodist’s Men’s Club. Cecil was also a past member of the Lions Club. He is survived by a son, Dr. Brian C. Lister; two daughters, Nancy Lister and Lynn Silvestro; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Cecil was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Ireland) Lister. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at the United Methodist Church of Good Fellowship, Naples. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Good Fellowship of Naples or the American Diabetes Association.
