MILLINOCKET – Wednesday evening, Sept. 14, 2006, Cecile LaPlante, daughter of Leandre and Emelie (Labree) Blanchette has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born May 30, 1909, in Upper Frenchville, Cecile set a standard of life for all to follow. She was a proud member of The Little Flower Circle Daughters of Isabella and a faithful member of the Block Rosary, a member of AARP and an Eucharistic minister. Cecile was predeceased by her husband, Leonidas in 1976; her daughter, Shirlene Pelkey in October 1993; and her beloved son-in-law, Raymond Pelkey in 1999. She was also predeceased by three brothers and their wives, Joyeme and Mattie Blanchette, Dedeme and Cecilia Blanchette and Phedyme and Blanche Blanchette; a sister, Welleanna; and brother-in-law, Mark Baron. Cecile is survived by a son, Ronald LaPlante and his wife, Linda, of Millinocket; two sisters, Evelyn Blanchette and Evangeline Bissonette and her husband, George; a brother-in-law, Fr. Clarence LaPlante of the Franciscan Order of Priests; two sisters-in-law, Sister Olla LaPlante of the Sisters of the Holy Rosary and Delores Nickless; nine grandchildren, Richard Pelkey, Kimberlee Pelkey, Cynthia Pelkey, Randy Pelkey, Theresa Flanagan, Keith Pelkey, Robert Pelkey, Kenneth LaPlante and Christine Wambolt; 13 greatgrandchildren, Richard Laplante, Halley Nichole Wambolt, Bethany Morris, Ben Taylor, Patrick Flannigan, Colin Flannigan, Anthony Pelkey, Brandon Pelkey, Mariah Pelkey, Leah Pelkey, Olivia Cecile Pelkey, Oscar Pelkey and Mikaela Rosebush; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where The Little Flower Circle Daughters of Isabella will perform a rosary service 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presiding. Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
