ASHLAND and MERIDEN, Conn. – Cecile M. Cloukey, 92, formerly of Ashland, died Feb. 7, 2005, at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Facility in Wallingford, Conn. She was born in Ashland, June 1, 1912, the daughter of Louis and Alice (Martin) Beaulieu. A life-long resident of Ashland, Cecile was the wife of a potato farmer, however, she always maintained her own businesses such as a restaurant and country store. She was also employed as a potato processor for Tater State in Washburn for a number of years. She enjoyed many pastimes, such as gardening, shopping, sewing, knitting and cooking. Cecile is survived by two sons, Norman Cloukey and his wife, Sylvia, of Old Orchard Beach, Melvin Cloukey and his wife, Gladys, of New Britain, Conn.; one daughter, Geraldine Collins and her husband, Rosaire, of Meriden, Conn.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Paul Cloukey in 1997. Relatives and friends may call at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, from 11 a.m. until time of service on Friday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Mark Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Hinken, SOLT, pastor, celebrant. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
