CARIBOU – Cecile Malenfant, 100, wife of the late Leon Malenfant Sr., died June 12, 2007, in Van Buren. She was born May 12, 1907, in Caribou, the daughter of Victor and Marie (Chaloult) Ouellette. Cecile was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a life time member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Catholic Golden Age. She was also a member of R.S.V.P. for more than 25 years. She is survived by eight sons, Leon Malenfant Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Caribou, Valmore and his ex-wife, Anita, of New Britain, Conn., Omer Malenfant and his wife, Jennie, of Bristol, Conn., Raymond Malenfant and his wife, Sharon, of Belchertown, Mass., Donald Malenfant and his wife, Sandy, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Maynard Malenfant and his wife, Antoinette, of Newington, Conn., Lindle Malenfant and his wife, Brenda, of Terryville, Conn., and Galen Malenfant and his wife, Terry, of Pasadena, Md.; six daughters, Doris Dubay and her husband, Arthur, of Palm Desert, Calif., Florence Lynch and her husband, Eugene, of Presque Isle, Mary Ann Anderson and her husband, James, of Orlando, Fla., Theresa Cerpovicz and her husband, Frank, of Feeding Hills, Mass., Twilda Doherty and her husband, Jim, of Nashua, N.H., and Linda Malenfant of Caribou; one sister, Doris Blanchette of Caribou; 55 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; a son-in-law, Philip Bishop of Caribou; three sisters-in-law, Irene Blanchette of Newport, Regina Ouellette of Caribou and Jeannette Ouellette of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by a daughter, Thelma Bishop; seven brothers, Napoleon, Aldor, Claude, Emelien, Oscar, Oliver and Delphis Ouellette; and three sisters, Alexina Gardner, Albena Thompson and Clair Blanchette. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. David Raymond, associate pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will take place at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
