SOUTHWICK, Mass. – Charles A. Bartley, 63, affectionately known to his friends and family as “Albert” died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, Mass. He was born in Mars Hill, and he lived the past 35 years in Southwick. He was a graduate of the Cambridge School of Business in Boston, Mass. and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Conn. for 27 years and after retirement, worked briefly at Hertz in Windsor Locks, Conn. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by his wife of 41 years, Ann; his son, Michael Bartley of Springfield, Mass.; and daughter and grandson, Lori and Justin Mountain of Southwick, Mass.; his sisters, Dodie Beals and her husband, Phillip, of Presque Isle, Brenda Soucier and her husband, Raymond, of Ashland, Donna Carter and her husband, Winston, of Mapleton, Irene Tweedie of Deltona, Fla., Prudence Gray of East Vasselboro, and Sharon Madore of Windham; his brothers, Cary Bartley and his wife, Judy, of Southington, Conn., Ray Bartley and his partner, Lisa Martinell, of Rutland, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Pauline Bartley of Maine; his stepfather, Ashton Bartley; his sisters, Claudette Brewer, Gertrude Hawkins, Theora Porter and Joyce Duncan; and his brother, Wayne Bartley. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway (Highway 10 and 202), Southwick, Mass. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
