BRADLEY – Charles “Chuck” Wentworth, 78, passed away July 16, 2008. He was the son of Alexander M. and Ruth M. (Hodgdon) Wentworth. He was a resident of Bradley for the past 11 years, and previously resided in Presque Isle for 25 years. He graduated from high school in Newport, R.I., and went on to graduate college from the University of Rhode Island in 1952. As a child, Chuck was a Boy Scout who was very proud of his post as a plane spotter during World War II. Later in life, Chuck enlisted in the Army and served our country during the Korean War. Chuck married Beatrice Sykes in 1953, and they have spent many loving years together. Chuck was a District Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts’ Boston Council and was their camp director for five summers. After working for the Boy Scouts for 22 years as a District Scout Executive, he worked for Burrelles Press Clipping service, Presque Isle, for 15 years, where he retired in 1995. He was also involved in the Kiwanis Club, Caribou. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bea Wentworth; his two children, Mark A. Wentworth and his wife, Debbie, of Bogot?, Columbia, and Sue E. Wentworth of Bradley; his five grandchildren, Ilse R., Timothy C., and Jacqueline L. Wentworth, and Jonah W. and Kerry W. Eaton; and by his best friend and companion, Caley, his dog. He is also survived by his sister, Priscilla A. Rawls of Milton, N.H.; and four nieces and nephews. Chuck was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Sharon L. Wentworth. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert T.
