FORT FAIRFIELD and CONNECTICUT – Charles E. Bubar, 66, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at his residence in Colchester, Conn. He was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Fort Fairfield, the son of John Ruben Bubar and Phyllis Brayson DeWitt. Charles was raised and attended school in Fort Fairfield, and moved to Connecticut in his early 20s. He worked for Atlantic Fence Co. from 1962 until 2007, when he retired. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He enjoyed working in the family owned business, Russell’s Restaurant, Fort Fairfield, from time to time. He was a faithful man who took great joy and comfort from his children. He is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Tammy, Mikayla and Keisha; two stepsons, Richard and Doug Caron, all of Connecticut; two brothers, Larry O. Bubar and wife, Takiko, of Presque Isle, and Tom J. DeWitt of Howland; two sisters, Judith Bubar Harper and husband, George, of Howland, and Tammy Bubar Bouchard and husband, Daryl, of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother. At his request, his body was donated to science and there will be no funeral services. A spring memorial service at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, is planned. We hope that heaven is all that you envisioned and you are at peace with Mom, Dad and the angels now. You will be missed.
