GREENVILLE – Charles E. McNeal, 71, of Nickerson Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at a Bangor hospital.He was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Caribou, to Howard and Audrey McNeal, and was a graduate of Caribou High School. He worked throughout his professional career as a service manager and parts manager at Ford and Dodge dealerships in Millinocket, Calais, and Dover-Foxcroft. Charlie is survived by Ruth, his wife of 22 years; his brother, William and wife, Arlene, of Brewer; his sister Roberta Walton and husband, Conrad, of Caribou; three sons and a daughter: Gregory McNeal and his wife, Stephanie, of Fairfield, Timothy McNeal of Ellsworth, Michael McNeal and his wife, Ellenann, of Livermore Falls, and Carol DeSalle and her husband, Anthony, of Windham, his former wife, Kathleen, of Windham; Ruth’s children, Jolene Boucher and her husband, Mike, of Greenville, Susan Springer and her husband, Bob, of Coventry, Conn., and Eddie Shaw of St. Stephen, N.B., Canada; Ruth’s parents, Herbert and Mary Ann Hyland of Greenville; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other special children with whom he was very close. Charlie will always be remembered for his love of a good story, his positive, caring attitude and his enjoyment of a good family gathering. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of his life 1-4 p.m on his birthday, Jan. 22, at the Masonic Lodge in Greenville. Interment and a special memorial service will be held in the spring.
