BROWNVILLE JUNCTION – Charles J Sickler, 59, husband of Barbara (Weston) Sickler died Aug. 7, 2005, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the son of James E. and Betty M. (St. Claire) Sickler. Charles worked for Great Northern Paper Co. for 40 years and was a member of the OPEIU union. He had served as a selectman for Brownville and on the Brownville Fire Dept. Charles also was an ASA umpire. He was a loving man who enjoyed teasing his family and friends. He loved horse racing and Foxwoods, but mostly spending time with his family, fishing trips to Canada Falls, coaching softball and spending time in his garden. In addition to his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara; and his mother, Betty of Brownville; he is survived by three children, Tina and husband, Greg Preble, of Windham, Jimmy and wife, Ann, of Brownville, Judy and husband, Tony Preble, of Milo; a brother, Danny and wife, Linda Sickler, of Brownville Junction; sister, Judy and Chuck Silsby of Manchester; five grandchildren, Timmy, Jessica, Claytie, Maryanne and Mikal. He will also be remembered by special friends, Richard and Beth Melanson of Brownville; and a special aunt, Bernetta. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, with the Rev. Michelle St. Cyr officiating. Burial will be in the Pinetree Cemetery Brownville Jct. Those who wish may make memorial donations to Cancer Care of Maine, 417 State St., Suite 20, Bangor, ME 04401.
