MILLINOCKET – Charles M. Kelley Jr., 87, died April 14, 2008, in Bangor. He was born June 2, 1920, in Benedicta, the son of Charles Sr. and Ella (Rush) Kelley. He was a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Bishop Benedict Council No. 1859 and was retired from Great Northern Paper. He is survived by two children, Wendell Roach of Massachusetts, and Diane Ryan and her husband, Steve, of Bangor; five grandchildren; one sister, Mary Giberson of Medway; one brother, James Kelley of Topsham; one sister-in-law, Corinne Kelley of Scarborough; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Arderene; and two brothers, George and Joseph. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Benedicta, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with Father Joel Cyr, celebrant.
