SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Charles W. “Charlie” Kramp, 73, passed away April 26, 2008, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Lockport, N.Y., the son of the late Alfred and Veronica (Layer) Kramp. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to1955. Charlie married his wife, Barbara, in 1957 in New York. He worked for 17 years at AT&T, Massachusetts, as an electronic technician. After moving to Maine in 1972, Charlie continued his work as an electronic technician in the marine and boat industry. He loved a challenge and could often be found in his spare time trying to figure out how to fix something. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Kramp; children, Robert Kramp and wife, Kimberly, of Seal Cove, Nadine Kramp of Ellsworth, Michael Kramp and fiancee, Maggie Farrin, of Winter Harbor and Kevin Kramp of West Tremont; seven grandchildren, Ebony and Jennifer Kramp, Michael and Kaleena Hamlin, Dustin and Lindsey Robbins and Christine Kramp; a brother, Robert Kramp and wife, Karen, of Florida; a sister, Virginia Kraatz and husband, Wally, of California; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane Pierce. Per Charlie’s request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hancock County Home Care & Hospice, P.O.
