BUCKSPORT – Charles Wayne Hanson, 66, died unexpectedly Oct. 8, 2007. He was born April 3, 1941, to Fred and Beulah (Chapter) Hanson. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army from 1967 to 1969. He is survived by the mother of his children, Betty J. Stanchfield; son, Mark A. Hanson and his wife, Debra, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; daughter, Lori A. Smith and her husband, Shawn, of Bangor; his special buddy, Petey; one sister, C. Jeanette Gordon and her husband, Allan, of Bucksport; one brother, George Hanson of Bucksport; two grandchildren, Ashly and Jenna; many nieces, nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends will gather for visitation 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, until the time of service 1 p.m. at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with the Rev. Donald Booker officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to help defray the cost of services be sent to Lori Smith, 4 Winter St., Bangor, ME 04401.
