UXBRIDGE, Mass. – Charlotte E. (Noyes) Pelland, 84, of 99 East Hartford Ave., died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at UMASS Memorial Hospital after an illness. Born Jan. 3, 1922, in East Corinth, she was the daughter of Earl C. and Geneva (Hanson) Noyes. Mrs. Pelland was the secretary for many years at the Uxbridge Fire Department, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Whitinsville, Mass. Her husband, Raymond R. Pelland died Oct. 5, 1974. She is survived by a son, Richard Pelland of Marston Mills, Mass.; a daughter, Mary Jane Smyth of Swanzey, N.H.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Pullen of Levant and Mary Jane Fletcher of North Canton, Ohio; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Pelland; and a daughter, Ruth Balcus. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge, Mass. Burial will be after at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Granite Street.
