HOULTON – Chester Merlyn Ivey, 85, went to be with his Lord Feb. 11, 2005. He was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Maxwell, N.B., Canada, the son of Andrew E. and Julia (Farrell) Ivey. He moved to Houlton with his family in 1955. He was employed at Houlton Farms Dairy for 30 years also part time with western Auto. He was a member of the Military Street Baptist Church since 1956. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was made deacon Emeritus in 2000. He survived by his wife of 62 years, Letitia (Williams) Ivey of Houlton; one son, Wendell C. and his wife, Jennifer Ivey, of Alfred; and one daughter, Carol and her husband, Peter Blood, of Houlton; one granddaughter, Kimberly Laliberte and her husband, Michael, of Portland; one grandson, Andrew Blood of Weymouth, Mass.; two brothers, Paul and his wife, Norma Ivey, of Brantford, Ont. and Roland and his wife, Miriam Ivey of Woodstock, N.B., Canada; two sisters, Mildred Nason of Vassalboro and Helen Albright and her husband, Lorne, of Jacksonville, N.B., Canada; also two sisters-in-law, Irene Ivey of Indiana and Mrs. Leona Ivey of Woodstock, N.B., Canada; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 12-1 p.m. Tuesday at the Military Street Baptist Church with funeral services be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Gary Johnson and the Rev. Bob Johnston officiating. Spring interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery Houlton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or for Gideon Bibles, care of Bowers Funeral Home, P.O.
