WAYLAND, Mass. – Cheyenne Nicole “Chey” Morrell, 10, died peacefully Wednesday evening, Dec. 19, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her residence, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She was born April 29, 1997, in Fort Benning, Ga., the daughter of Patricia J. Morrell and Steven M. Morrell Jr. of Wayland, Mass. Cheyenne had been a resident of Wayland, Mass., for the past seven years and previously resided in Hampden and Fort Benning, Ga. She was in the fifth grade at Claypit Hill School, Wayland, Mass. She enjoyed walking throughout the neighborhood, being outdoors and using her four-wheeler. She loved animals, the Boston Red Sox, all types of music and shopping with her family and friends. Cheyenne was extremely artistic and creative and was also a member of the Wayland Girl Scouts. In 2006, she was very proud and determined to participate in the Jimmy Fund Walk and completed several miles in lieu of her tremendous battle with cancer. She was a loving and caring young lady who brought comfort to others and always had a way to make them feel special and to light up a room with her presence. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends and truly set an example of living life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all the lives that she touched. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving sister, Ashley M. Morrell of Lincoln, Mass., and her boyfriend, Tomaz Tepper, of Stoughton, Mass. She was the granddaughter of Steven M. Morrell Sr. and Sherrill J. Morrell of Hampden, and John J. Meenan Jr. and Wanita M. Meenan of Orrington. She was the great-granddaughter of Geraldine Morrell of Brewer and Dorothy Smith of North Scituate, R.I. She was the niece of Christy J. Morrell of Hampden, Donna M. McGraw of Maine, Denise A. Morrill and her husband, James P. Morrill, both of Orrington, Clayton K. Kuhn Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Kuhn, both of Brooks, and Wade E. J. Kuhn of Maine. Also survived by several cousins, great cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles. Visitations will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road, off Route 30, Cochituate Village, Wayland, Mass. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date at a time and place to be announced. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in her memory be sent to Cheyenne N. Morrell Fund, Bank of America, 289 Boston Post Road, Wayland, MA 01778.
