ADDISON – Clara F. Wass, 79, passed away peacefully Nov. 23, 2007, surrounded by her family and a close friend at her home. She was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Centerville, the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Crocker) Flaherty. Clara was a longtime member of the Indian River Grange. She was also active for many years in the Pleasant River Historical Society, serving as secretary. Clara enjoyed cooking. She and her husband, Leander, also enjoyed square dancing for many years. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Leander B. Wass; nephews, David A. Tenney and wife, Jessie R. Tenney, of Lancaster, Pa., Dale W. Tenney and Paul L. Tenney, both of Columbia Falls; sister-in-law, Lilla Flaherty of Jones-port; several cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Benjamin Flaherty. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Indian River Cemetery, Jonesport, officiated by Pastor George Woodward.
