DOVER-FOXCROFT – Clara Mae (Jackson) Patterson, 90, wife of the late Raymond Patterson, died July 19, 2007, at a Sanford health care facility. She was born Dec. 19, 1916, in Bangor, the daughter of Arthur and Adeline (Adams) Jackson. A graduate of Hampden Academy, she married Raymond Patterson, Aug. 22, 1936. Clara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her extraordinary cooking, and she especially loved cooking for her family. She and Raymond thoroughly enjoyed their grandchildren and loved having them visit. They included the grandchildren as often as they could when they traveled. Clara was a member of Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, the Junior Cosmopolitan Club and she was a dedicated volunteer at Mayo Hospital for more than 30 years, still volunteering at age 90. Throughout the years, she had worked at Koritsky’s Department Store, Lary Funeral Home and Mayo Regional Hospital, all in Dover-Foxcroft. She is survived by her three sons, Irving Patterson and his wife, Lorene, of West Kennebunk, Allen and his wife, Jo-Anne, of Sanford and Joel and his wife, Carol, of Springvale; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Mark, Gregory, Michael and David Patterson, all of Sanford, Kristen Jenkins of Rockville, Md., Kelley Porazinski of Newton, N.H., Katherine Herring of Pine Grove, Pa., Kimberly Mann of Wells, Patricia Patterson of Scarborough and Amy Schmitt of Southbury, Conn.; and 19 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by many dear friends. Memorial services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church with the Rev. Heather Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden. Memorial contributions in Clara’s memory may be made to Foxcroft Academy, 975 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
