PORTLAND and STOCKTON SPRINGS – Clarence B. Kneeland passed away on April 17, 2004, at a Portland area hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1917, at Stockton Springs, son of Percy and Eva Fales Kneeland. He graduated from Stockton Springs High School in 1936, and Gillman School of Business in Bangor with a degree in accounting. He worked for several businesses in the Bangor and Portland areas during his work career, and subsequently started an accounting and tax preparation business in his home that continued until his retirement. Clarence belonged to the Maine Association of Professional Accountants and served as treasurer for several years. He also belonged to the Brotherhood of Odd Fellows in Winterport. He is survived by twin sisters, Alice Harrison and Marion Dakin; a brother, Charles, and his wife, Sheila; and 11 nieces and nephews. Clarence resided at the Seaside Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Portland for the past three years and left many friends in the management, staff and residents. There will be a committal service 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, at the Mount Recluse Cemetery on Cape Jellison in Stockton Springs. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St., Searsport.
