LYNDONVILLE, Vt. Clarence L. Pratt passed away Nov. 28, 2003. He was born on Nov. 29, 1917, son of Harold and Cora Pratt, in Dexter. After graduating from the University of Maine, Orono, with bachelors and masters degrees in education, he taught and was principal of schools in Hermon, Harrington, and East Corinth. In 1961, Mr. Pratt moved to Winslow, and worked as a sales agent for New York Life Insurance Co., until his retirement. He and his beloved wife, Louise, then wintered in Port Orange, Fla., and summered at their home in Winslow. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Louise Pratt; his parents; his brother, Virgil Pratt; and his sister, Gwendolyn Lemelin. Mr. Pratt is survived by two daughters, Sat Inder Khalsa (Gail) and her husband, Karta Purkh Khalsa of Kansas City, Mo., Donna and her husband, Thomas Edwards of Lyndonville, Vt.; his granddaughters, Karen McCalla and her husband, Scott, of Rutland, Vt., Debra Edwards of Lyndonville, Vt., Guru Shabd Khalsa of Kansas City, Mo.; and by two great-grandchildren, Maxwell Joseph and Emelia Megan McCalla. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the First Congregational Church, 7 Eustis Parkway, Waterville. The Rev. Dr. David Anderman will officiate. Mr. Pratt is buried in the family lot at Snow’s Corner Cemetery, Hermon.
