VEAZIE – Claude N. Cookson, 69, son of Irving Cookson and Effie Teague of Kenduskeag died Friday afternoon, June 24, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was a 1955 graduate of Brewer High School and attended the Bangor Theological Seminary. Though his later years were spent in Veazie, he lived the majority of his life in Dedham where he was a hard worker and devoted father. He was a self-employed businessman for most of his life and an avid Boston and University of Maine sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Alice Agnes Cookson of Veazie; one son and two daughters. His son, Stephen Robert Cookson resides in Coventry, R.I, with his wife, Kari Ann and their two daughters, Paige Elizabeth and Erinn Katherine. His eldest daughter, Sherri Lynn Root resides in Seaside, Ore., with her husband, Mark William and daughter, Morgan Taylor. His younger daughter, Valerie Jean Cookson is a resident of Bangor and a member of the 101st Air Refueling Wing. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., located at 300 State St., Bangor.
