NORTHPORT – Clyde Bailey Sr., 79, died unexpectedly Jan. 20, 2005, at a New Hampshire hospital. He was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Belfast, the son of Ira and Gladys (George) Bailey. Clyde served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for many years for the Belfast school district as a bus driver and mechanic. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and being with his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Hodgdon) Bailey; and his brother, Horace and Allen Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Marion Nancy Bailey of New Hampshire; daughters, Gloria Verzoni of Belfast, Kathy Bryant of Northport, Diana Corey of Belfast, Vicki Woods of Tennessee; one son, Clyde Bailey Jr. of Waldoboro; his stepchildren, Wayne Bailey of Bowdoinham, Doreen Chapman of New Hampshire, Kevin Bailey of New Hampshire, Lesa Thibodeau of Vermont, B.J. Bailey of Bowdoinham, Jeffrey Patterson of New Hampshire; one brother, Richard Bailey of Knox; sisters, Alice Lester of Newport, Marie Penney of Burnham, and Shirley Prescott of Brooks; grandchildren, Peter Verzoni, Anna Verzoni, Jennifer Bryant, John Bryant Jr., Wendell Corey II, Julie Corey, Holden Woods, and Adam Woods; stepgrandchildren, Travis Bailey, Aricka Chapman, Alaina Chapman, Taylor Bailey, Trevor Bailey, Brandon Thibodeau, Alysia Thibodeau, Sierra Thibodeau, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday for visitation at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast, with funeral services 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Captain Ramsey officiating. Interment will be at the East Northport Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave, Belfast.
