NORWAY – Clyde H. West Sr., 73, of Oxford died Wednesday, April 27, at Stephens Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Cuptal, the son of Charles and Clara Brewer West. He attended Oxford schools and had been a woodsman all of his life. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. He enjoyed poker and beano. He married Joanne Baker on Sept. 5, 2000. He is survived by his wife of Oxford; two sons, Clyde West Jr. and his wife, Siobhan, of South Paris and Michael West and his wife, Debra, of Oxford; two stepdaughters, Debbie Kasevich of Norway and Penny Mize of Georgia; three stepsons, Scott Strout of South Paris, Dean Strout of Massachusetts and Randy Rugg of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and four sisters, Dorothy, Ellie, Theresa and Beryl. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth Smith West; a daughter, Cythia; and two brothers, Charles and George. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Weston Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main St., South Paris where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, with interment following at Riverside Cemetery in Oxford.
