ELLSWORTH – Colby H. Rockwell, 92, died Aug. 6, 2008, at an Ellsworth health care facility. He was born May 28, 1916, in Linneus, the son of Charles Boyd and Edna M. (Stoddard) Rockwell. Colby attended Linneus Roosevelt School. He lived in Linneus until 1970, moved to Bangor and then to Ellsworth in 1997. Colby was a hard working man and enjoyed his time with his family. Church was very important to him. He was a member of Linneus Free Will Baptist Church, Bangor Baptist Church and Family Bible Church of Ellsworth. He is survived by sons, David Rockwell and wife, Carol, of Chino, Calif., and Richard Rockwell and wife, Jerral, of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Sara Spencer, Katie Martin, Shellie Driscoll and Christie Cushman; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Cliff Rockwell of Brewer and Wendell Rockwell of Unity; sisters, Ruth Kervin of Hodgdon and Mary Woodworth of Houlton. He was predeceased by his wife, Mavis P. Rockwell; and sisters, Dorothy Bradley and Dora Williams. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, with a funeral service 3 p.m. with Pastor Scott Connors officiating.
