ROCKLAND – Colin O. Hayward, 72, died July 31, 2004, at Shore Village Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Dennysville, a son of Erma Sprague Hayward and Melvin Hayward. He attended schools in Dennysville. He worked as a woodsman and mechanic and was a member of the Rockland Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed playing beano. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances S. Hayward; and a son, Melvin Hayward. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Linda) Wilder of Windham, Mrs. Mark (Layna) LaBranche of Waterville; seven grandchildren, Micheal, Nicholas and Christopher Wilder of Windham, Nicole and Mitch Russell of Calais, Shelby and Kelly-Jo LaBranche of Waterville; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and David Wilder of Portland. At the request of Mr. Hayward there will be no services.
