MILFORD- Beloved mother, Colleen P. Comstock, 70, passed away Dec. 16, 2004, at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was born in Lincoln, Sept. 2, 1934, the youngest daughter to the late Hersey W. and Georgia H. (Ballard) Smith. Colleen was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Lee Academy. She worked in area shoe shops where she made many life-long friends. Among her hobbies were genealogy and quilting. Colleen enjoyed endless hours in conversation on the telephone with her sister and made it a daily routine. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her five children; daughter, Christine Chabe and her fianc?, Everett Sapiel, of Bradley; son, Leslie Comstock and his companion, Gail McMichael, of Orono; son Douglas Comstock and his wife, Donna, of Bangor; daughter, Diane Eaves and her husband, Dave, of Florida and Lynn Comstock of Florida; eight grandchildren; Matthew Chabe, Erin Chabe, Jennifer Comstock, Michael Comstock, Taylor Comstock, Stephen Comstock, Stephanie Comstock and David “D.J.” Eaves Jr., three great-grand-daughters; Adeline Chabe, James Chabe and Griffin Chabe; sister, Coris Betters; two brothers; Gerald “Bud” Smith and Floyd Smith; many nieces and nephews that she was very fond of. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating.
