SAYBROOK Conn. and WINTERPORT – Cornelia O. (Shaw) Birmingham, 90, wife of the late Thomas F. Birmingham Jr., passed away Nov. 4, 2005, at a Saybrook healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Winterport, the daughter of Everett O. and Elizabeth F. (Johnson) Shaw. Cornelia was a graduate of Winterport High School, Class of 1933 and attended the Maine School of Commerce. She was a member of the former Winterport United Methodist Church. Cornelia is survived by her son, Paul Richard Birmingham, of Seeley’s Bay, Ontario, Canada; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Monahan and Daniel Hatheway of Waterford, Conn.; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport, with the Rev. Dr. Deborah M. Jenks, pastor of the Hampden Congregational Church, officiating.
