EAGLE LAKE – Cynthia Clavette Martin, 92, died peacefully June 16, 2005, at an Eagle Lake nursing care facility. Mrs. Martin was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Eagle Lake, the daughter of Denis and Agnes (Gagnon) Clavette. She was a past member of the Ladies of St. Anne, past president of the Eagle Lake Development Corp., and former member of St. Mary’s Parish Council, all of Eagle Lake. She helped develop the Senior Citizen and Community Health Center of Eagle Lake. She will be remembered as being a great cook. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, decorating and traveling with her husband. She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Bragdon of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; one sister, Mona Bandholtz of Clairemont, Calif.; five grandchildren, Susan Brocker, Steven Bragdon, Stuart Bragdon, Linda Wood and Ralph Martin; three great-grandchildren, Michael and Peter Brocker, Emma Bragdon and Stephanie Wood; one great-great-grandson, Logan Wood; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Claude and two sons, Glenn and Robert; two brothers, Patrick and Althe Clavette; and three sisters, Dora Bolduc, Rita Gallagher and Bernice Champagnon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake, with the Rev. Bill Labbe officiating. Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery.
