WOODLAND – Dale Carl Peterson, 70, died Feb. 1, 2008, in Caribou, after a brief illness. He was born May 23, 1937, in Perham, son of the late Verner and Ida (Sperry) Peterson. Dale was educated in Woodland and Caribou schools, and was a resident of Woodland his entire life. He married his high school sweetheart, Paula Deeves, of Washburn, June 30, 1955. Together they raised five children. Dale worked for his father at Peterson’s Cash and Carry, Colby, for several years. He then became the owner of Peterson’s Septic Tank Service, which he operated for many years. Dale sold his business and retired in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodland. Surviving in addition to his wife of more than 52 years, Paula of Woodland, are his two sons, Randy of Neustadt, Germany, and Gary of Florence, Ky.; his three daughters, Kim Smith and her husband, Don, of Palmyra, Va., Lisa Chandonnet and her husband, Dan, of Dover, Del., and Jayne Walton and her husband, Michael, of Spring, Texas; three sisters, Carolyn Larson and her husband, Leonard, of Wallingford, Conn., Nella Ouellette and her husband, Carl, and Pat Lom-bard and her husband, Doug, all of Caribou; 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Dale was predeceased by a grandson, Garrett; and a brother, Relland. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Friends may visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A private family service will be held later.
