HOULTON – Dale Donahue, 71, died June 29, 2008, surrounded by his loving family at a local hospital. He was born July 15, 1929, in Houlton, the son of Clara (Stone) and Fred T. Donahue. Dale attended Houlton schools and was a graduate of Houlton High School, and then graduated from the School of Banking. He was a communicant of Saint Mary of the Visitation Church. Dale served eight years on Houlton Town Council, with several of those years as secretary; many terms on Houlton Budget Review Board and Zoning Board of Appeals; and also served on the Salvation Army Board. He was a member of Houlton Odd Fellows No. 78; past member and treasurer of Houlton Lodge of Elks No. 835; and a past member of Dollars for Scholars Committee. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy (Colwell) Donahue of Houlton; three sons, Timothy M. of Houlton, Thomas and his wife, Kelly, of Hammond and Stephen and his wife, Laurin, of Blaine; one brother, Fred and his wife, Debbie, of Bangor; his grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Rebecca, Matthew and his wife, Kyli, Elizabeth and Melanie, all of Houlton, Paul, Jason and Rachael of Blaine, Thomas Jr., and Jennifer Kesaris and her husband, Nick, all of Bangor; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Hazel Botting and Joan Donahue; and one daughter, Catherine. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
