BROOKSVILLE – Dana Libby “Cappy” Holbrook, 60, died Sept. 27, 2007, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1947, in Newton, Mass., the son of Donald I. and Dorothy (Dyer) Holbrook. Dana taught school in Brooksville for 25 years. He was also a caretaker, lobsterman and real estate broker. Dana’s passions were hunting, fishing, lobstering and Elvis Presley music. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. Dana was a member of the IOOF of Brooksville, past member of Hancock County and Washington County Board of Realtors. Dana is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Carol of Brooksville; son, Donald Holbrook and wife, Erica, of San Clemente, Calif.; daughter, Lindley Christine Gray and husband, Dan, of Blue Hill; stepdaughter, Kristin Marie Fontaine and husband, Paul, of Pawtucket, R.I.; brother, Peter Holbrook of New Hampshire; mother-in-law, Bernice Schonbeck of Brooksville; grandchildren, Alexandra Holbrook of California, Morgan and Blake Fontaine of Rhode Island. Dana will be sadly missed by his beloved yellow lab, Emma. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Evergreen Cemetery, Cape Rosier.
