DANIEL C. MORRISON SR. BUCKSPORT – Daniel C. Morrison Sr., 79, died Oct. 24, 2003, at his home. He was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Holden, the son of James W. and Helen (Butler) Morrison. Daniel was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps. He worked for the Town of Bucksport as a woodsman for many years, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and blueberry raking. He was a talented musician, who sang, played the guitar and harmonica, and performed at “Frankenstein’s” in Brewer, and continued when it became known as “Dick Stacey’s Country Jamboree”. He was a 60-year member of the Victory Grange, North Orland, serving as a Past Master. Daniel is survived by eight children, Daniel Morrison Jr., Roger Morrison, Timothy Morrison, and Thomas Morrison, all of Bangor, Robert Morrison of Belfast, Elizabeth Knox of Searsport, Linda Simpson of Bucksport, and Sally Newton of Swanville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his wife, Josephine F. Morrison, in 1996; two sisters, Annie Killiam and Jennie Shontell; one brother, William Morrison. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Bucksport. A gathering of conversation and refreshment will follow at the Victory Grange, North Orland. Donations in his memory may be made to the family, P.O.
