ORONO – Daniel J. Frazier, 83, passed away May 27, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born Jan. 23, 1923, in Hill, N.H., the son of Daniel and Gladys (Colby) Frazier. Dan graduated from the University of Maine at Orono where he was a catcher for the baseball team. He taught school and coached several sports at Lee Academy. Dan served three terms in the Maine House of Representatives. He was executive director of the Maine State Employees Assoc. Dan was president for many years of Sargent, Tyler, and West in Brewer, a member of the M Club, chairman of Orono School Board, and past-president of the Orono/Old Town Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed auctioneering for the Kiwanis Club, watching the Red Sox, golfing, working in his yard, including growing vegetables in his large garden every summer. More then anything he enjoyed time with his family and dear friends. Dan is survived by his wife, Mary (Hatt) Frazier; children, Janet Scala and husband, Rick, of Falmouth, Scott Frazier and wife, Donna, of Poquoson, Va., Holly Kany and husband, Bill, of Saco; a brother, Clifford Hodges of Gilford, N.H.; two sisters, Alice Goodspeed of Hermon, Constance Webb of Lincoln, R.I.; grandchildren, Tony Scala, Greg and Matt Frazier, Will, Andy, and Erin Kany. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Hodges and Paul Frazier. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where a service of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, with the Rev.
