GRAND ISLE and HOUSTON, TEXAS – Daniel S. Chasse, 52, passed away unexpectedly in Italy while on assignment for Exxon Mobil. He was born Oct. 30, 1953, in Grand Isle, the son of Gilman and Normande Chasse. Dan grew up in Grand Isle and attended the University of Maine. He received his MBA at Georgia Tech University. Dan also served in the Army reserves as first lieutenant. Although Dan traveled abroad during his career in the oil and gas industry, he has considered Houston his home for the last 25 years. He was much loved by his family and friends and he will be greatly missed. In addition to his mother, Dan is survived by his wife, Diane Eilbeck Chasse and their beloved pet dog, Daisy; three brothers, Glen Chasse, Mike Chasse and his wife, Lisa, SMSGT Brian Chasse and his wife, Julie; one sister, Debbie Harvey and her husband, Kevin; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday, at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Gerard Cemetery in the spring.
