MARS HILL – Daphine A. Bryant, 88, died March 26, 2004, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 28, 1915, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Delbert and Flossie (Kinney) McPherson. `Daphine grew up in the Mars Hill area and attended the Aroostook Central Institute. She worked for several years along side her husband wrapping meat in their meat cutting and wrapping service. She also worked for several years at Kelley Commons located in U.M.P.I. preparing desserts. Daphine also enjoyed doing ceramics in her spare time. She attended the United Methodist Church in Mars Hill. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Yoko Bryant of Kobe, Japan; two granddaughters, Mari Bryant of Tokyo, Japan, Michi Bryant of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Beth “Bylo” Ritchie of Leesburg, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Bryant; a son, Richard Bryant; a brother, Sherman Bryant; two sisters, Pheobe Krause and Marion Millar.’ There will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill, with the Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Arrangements in care of Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill.
